SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Everyone tries to come to grips with the new information they’ve learned about Gold Owl and Duke. Elefseria figures that since the dragon gods disliked each other, it would make sense for Viernes to use Athena to rid himself of his rivals. Athena reveals that in order to destroy Viernes, they need to use separation enchantment and the Philosopher’s Stone. The separation magic will expel the dragon’s will from the guild building. The Philosopher’s Stone will force the dragon into corporeal form.

The problem with the separation enchantment is the only person Athena knows who can use it is dead. Though Irene is dead, Erza says Wendy should be able to use it. However, Duke took all her magic. And there’s the issue of attempting to make the Philosopher’s Stone. Sting, Minerva, and Yukino set out to find an alchemist who might create it. Minerva ends up destroying the first guild they find when the men hit on her.

Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Jellal arrive at Gold Owl. To their surprise, they find themselves inside Fairy Tail. Jellal warns them that this is an illusion.

Thoughts/Review:

Okay. According to Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 138, they basically need to basically exorcise the Gold Owl building, then use the Philosopher’s Stone to give him physical form. I’m glad the correct term “Philosopher’s Stone” is used rather than the cop out “Sorcerer’s Stone”.

That aside, this chapter was mostly recapping the reveals from the previous chapter, then starting out on their plan. And no one has repaired Athena yet, no has she seemingly suffered any ill effects from the large hole in her midsection. Granted, we didn’t see her with either team that went out. As such, it is possible that somehow she’s getting repairs.

Finally, we get the surprise return of Fairy Tail. Well, if were up to me, the chapter would have ended without Jellal starting to dispel the illusion they were with their old teammates. Sure, no one would have believed it, but I think there would still have been an element of doubt.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 138 is fine for what it is, but it isn’t anything special.
